WORLD FOOD DAY 2020: GROW, NOURISH, SUSTAIN, TOGETHER

Image
Today, we celebrate the World Food Day (WFD) along with the rest of the world. The day is celebrated in honour of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), now 75 years ago, as a way to promote awareness and action on issues of hunger and malnutrition. The FAO is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger by achieving food security for all and making sure people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. Coincidentally, exactly a week ago, the Nobel Peace Prize 2020 was awarded to the World Food Programme (WFP) for its efforts to combat hunger, its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict. The WFP is also an agency of the UN that shares a common vision with the FAO. The only distinction is that it is remarkably humanitarian.

CUT BEEF SOME SLACK, HAVE SOME VEGETABLES.

Source A lot of people love beef- spiced, boiled or grilled. In some houses, the pieces of meat in your food is equal to your rank in the family or your importance: and sometimes it indicates celebratory event like your birthday or good grades. A large number of people favour beef over vegetables or must at least have beef to compliment the vegetables.

Ever heard the twitter saying, "Many are mad, few are roaming"? As funny as that sounds, it is somewhat true, but more like 'many are mentally ill, only a few show it'.  According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly half of the world's population is affected by mental illness with an impact on their self-esteem, relationships and ability to function in everyday life. Over 26 percent of all Americans over the age of 18 meet the criteria for having a mental illness. According to the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), one in five American experience mental health issues which translates to more than 40 million adults a year.

IS IT ECZEMA OR PITYRIASIS VESICOLOR?

Image
Your skin is itchy, red and dry. You can’t stop scratching. After googling your symptoms, you’re quick to conclude it’s eczema. But before you rush to the pharmacy, you need to know there are other skin conditions that can have visually similar symptoms and your eczema cream probably won’t work for them.
