I CAN FLY!!!

Image
Photo by Karina Carvalho on Unsplash For a long long time, I have believed that I can fly. I have thought about this for nights and for days and I really do believe I can fly. I know you think I’m only just echoing R.Kelly 1998 hit song I believe I can fly , but I’m not. I think his song is a classic but my thoughts here are classical. When he sings about touching the sky he means it metaphorically, when I think about touching the sky I mean it metaphysically. And when he heartily sings about spreading his wings, I can only drearily think of the tale of Icarus and Daedalus, which is a very dreary tale indeed.

ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY.

AMATEURISM—ENTHUSIAST WITH HEART AND LOVE.

Photo credit How do you feel when you’re described as an amateur? Sad, probably. Well, I hope this gives you a new perspective to amateurism. For most Nigerian students, on the wake of a new phase in their educational lives i.e. matriculation into a university, they’re full of enthusiasm. Most of them want a 5.00 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average), which some achieved while some didn’t, some others were close though. I remember,

JUST ASK! DON'T ASSUME.

Photo Credit Has something like this ever happened to you? You greeted someone and they gave you a rather cold response. You immediately assumed that their coldness was based on what you’d said or done. You trace in your mind the interactions between the two of you in the recent past and reach a conclusion on how you’re probably responsible. Then, you immediately start making excuses in your head so that when that person speaks to you, you react in a defensive manner, not even hearing clearly what was said. And within minutes an unnecessary row ensues.
