ALARM: THE STORY OF A DEEP SLEEPER.

Sam walked into the room after a very tedious day in class.  Hey! Sam, how was your day? Mark asked. It was very long and exhausting, but we thank God still, I said offing my shirt.  I have not being online lately, what has being happening on the WhatsApp group chat? I enquired. Nothing much, just a saddening class schedule Mark said. What about it? Sam replied. Well, it just Mr Bassey's class tomorrow. Oh! You should have been used to that by now, at least it’s by 8am tomorrow, we have ample time to get set for the class I said relaxing on my plastic chair.
Well, you’re very wrong this time, the class is by 7am tomorrow, Mark replied climbing his bunk. What! Sam stuttered in amazement. It’s really going to be tough for me, how do I go about this?
Mark, what is the plan? Sam asked. As you can see, I am about to call it a day here,  so that I can wake up early enough for class tomorrow, Mark said drowsily. Bro! Wait, I have gist for you Sam said, please I will hear it tomorrow, I don’t want to miss tomorrow’s class, Mark said hastily. Sleep well then, Sam said obviously, Sam did not get a reply.
How do I get ready for tomorrow like this? I think I have to set alarm, Sam pondered aloud. But alarm doesn’t help me, it only frustrates my roommates. Well, I’m going to give it a try regardless, Sam concluded. First, Sam increased the volume of his alarm clock to the maximum. But sincerely this doesn’t help, I’m only going to disrupt the peace of my roommates he said again. Sam's plan was to wake up by 6:00am, at least he will have 45 minutes to warm his food and have his bath. Then the next 15 minutes he will just stroll to class venue like a boss, with his fine single-hand leather black bag. So Sam's alarm started from 5:50pm, and he will then snooze it till he is fully awake by 6:00am, then fully execute his plans.
Well, the time is 9pm, he quickly ironed his clothes for the next day, arranged his socks and tie. Sam read his notes from 10:30pm to about 12:00am, as most students does, after listening to the latest gist in town. Well, it was time for Sam to  sleep, he quickly said a prayer to enhance the alarm. Before Sam went to bed, his phone battery was low, that obviously didn’t bother him because they was steady electricity. Sam reached for the extension box closest to his bunk, plugged the phone and finally slept off.
It was 5:50am nothing happened, 6:00am nothing happened. Every other occupant of the room were awake and getting ready for their daily activities. Sam wake up, Mark said tapping Sam. Sam is not ready yet for this class said Mark, leaving the room for the bathroom.
It was when Mark returned from the bathroom that Sam woke up, sweating and breathing like some one competing against Usain Bolt for the Olympic gold medal. Jesus! Sam shouted when he saw the bright morning Sun, what is the time? He asked Mark hastily, reaching for his towel. It’s 4 minutes past 7am. You’re joking Sam said. Did you off my alarm? No, I didn’t replied Mark. Sam reached for his phone  just to realize that his phone didn’t charge. His phone went off before the alarm time. He rushed to block 8 bathroom, but it was occupied, he quickly ran to block 7, on getting there he found an empty bathroom with towel on the frame of the door, apparently the owner was using the toilet. Without the permission, Sam shifted it, had his bath quickly and left. Unfortunately for Sam his roommates had already gone to class and locked him out. Sam was infuriated and devastated at the same time. He was flabbergasted at the action of his roommates, he then had to access the room through his neighbor's room.
Luckily for Sam he finally arrived at the venue of the class exactly by 7:15am, he was the last person to enter the classroom before the class room was shot. Thank God for the air conditioner in the class room.
When he finally settled down, he realized that he didn’t only forget his Haematology note book, but he also forgot to warm his spaghetti.
